First Friday of Each Month, Year Round
One of our favorite activities here at La Petite Maison Blanche is taking part in the Sequim First Friday Art Walk, held the first Friday of each month from 5-8pm, year-round.
Initiated in 2006, the Sequim First Friday Art Walk is an encouraging and educational arts event that is sponsored and produced by Renne Emiko Brock.
Renne is an artist who loves to create colorful, meaningful objects and educational arts events. She wanted to establish a free and inclusive event that includes all forms of the Arts as an invitation to the community to participate in an evening of talent, education, and validation of local creative efforts.
Creating cultural vitality is financially sound for a population and improves the quality of life in a community. Our hope is that Sequim will become a destination for creative pursuits and products. A thriving arts community benefits all businesses that in turn support artists, educators, and cultural institutions.
Sinse opening our doors in the spring of 2023, La Petite Maison Blanche has enthusiastically taken part in this fun and exciting community event. This past summer we were graced with the presence of Kate Lilly and her extraordinary singing talent, greeting patrons outside our store with her rousing original songs and favorite renditions of other songwriters.
Every month, La Petite Maison Blanche features a local artist here in the store and introduces their current collection during the Art Walk. From glass artists to wood workers, jewelers, painters and sculptures, our selection is diverse, spectacular and original. You will always find a treat or a treasure browsing through our local artist’s selections.
To top it all off, we always offer fresh baked treats from local bakers. Cookie Daughters provides seasonally flavored authentic French macarons and festively decorated sugar cookies. Crumley’s Confections and That Takes the Cake round out our delectable selections with mini cupcakes in every flavor imaginable.
There are currently about 23 vendors included in the Sequim First Friday Art Walk and most of them have something fun going on at their locations, whether it is food, art or music, it’s a party in downtown Sequim!
Stop by during the next First Friday Art Walk from 5-8pm, visit with friends, shop local art and treat yourself to a few fine things. You deserve it!
